Why are gun companies moving?
Guns & Ammo
Since the 1816 founding of Remington Arms in Ilion, N.Y., the northeastern United States has been the domestic firearm industry's home for traditional manufacturers such as Colt and Smith & Wesson. Currently, however, an unprecedented number of gun companies are expanding or considering a move to entirely different states. Why? The most obvious answer is that these companies find it difficult to do business in regions favoring an anti-gun sentiment. Connecticut and New York, both home to large, historic firearms manufacturers, enacted some of the nation’s strictest gun-control regulations last year. The governors of these states continue to foreshadow additional restrictions.

Defiant NRA chief draws line against Washington, 'media elites': We will never surrender or submit
The Blaze
In a speech that was both bleak and defiant, National Rifle Association Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre called on conservative activists to fight Washington and "media elites" who want to "strip our rights away." "You feel it in your heart," LaPierre said at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference, held just outside Washington, D.C. "You know it in your gut. Something in our country has gone wrong the core values that we believe in, the things we care about most in our lives, are changing."

Picking the right concealed carry gun
Gun Digest
Drop into any local gun store or log into any firearms forum on the Internet and ask what the "best carry gun" is. You'll get a raft of responses, almost all of which are based on what the responders personally like. What's more, what they personally like may or may not be based on anything other than hearsay — or what their buddies like. Let's look at it a little more logically; choosing a concealed carry gun is really about reaching the right balance for you. You have to consider size, power, efficiency and capacity in your deliberations, and each variable affects the others.

Brady law has done little to keep guns out of criminals' hands
Investor's Business Daily
Feb. 28 marked the 20th anniversary of the so-called Brady Law, a federal gun control in honor of James Brady, Ronald Reagan's former press secretary who was wounded in John Hinckley's assassination attempt. Since it requires background checks on all guns purchased from federally licensed firearms dealers, gun control advocates celebrated the law's purported effectiveness. The description by the Capitol newspaper The Hill was typical.

Discoveries: Sierra Sid's Elvis gun collection in Sparks, Nev.
The Sacramento Bee
Sam McManis, writes: "I am not so much a fan of Elvis Presley — sorry, not my generation — as I am an admirer of Elvis ephemera. All the over-the-top glitz and wretched excess, all the sequined white-leather jump suits and gaudy jewelry, I find at once fascinating and lurid. So when I heard that a truck stop-slash-casino outside Reno was in possession of the by-gawd gun that Elvis used to famously — perhaps apocryphally — shoot up his TV set in some Las Vegas hotel suite, I had to veer off Interstate 80 to check it out."

These accidents can often leave people with traumatic brain injuries, which according to the World Health Organization, are a leading cause of death and disability worldwide. In Texoma, one man nearly lost his life in an ATV accident. Almost two years ago, Craig Northcutt was hunting with his best friend, James Dry, when his life changed forever. "The night that it happened James and I were chasing coyotes when the ATV flipped," Northcutt said. "My face hit the ground going about 55 miles per hour."
