Sens. Rand Paul, Mike Lee and Ted Cruz will filibuster gun control bill
Guns.com
Three republicans sent a letter to Senate House Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., telling him that they "will oppose the motion to proceed" any bill that subverts the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens. Sens. Rand Paul, R-Ky., Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Mike Lee, R-Utah, drafted the letter that didn't explicitly use the word "filibuster" but was, nevertheless, clearly threatening one.

Rifle sight-in process, with 2 tips most shooters will never do
Gun Reports
VideoBrief Ryan Cleckner shares his process for sighting in a scoped rifle. There are some basics here, including bore-sighting, starting with a short 25-yard shot to get on the paper and shooting groups before making adjustments at 100 yards. Reloads or factory?
Gun Digest
Corey Graff, a columnist for Gun Digest, writes: "Writing this basic primer on reloading recently forced me to think critically about my own exploits into handloading. I don't reload as much as I used to, thanks to limited free time, but equally at fault is the fact that factory ammo has become so good. This is especially true when it comes to match-grade ammo. One benefit of reloading precision rifle ammunition is the ability to customize loads for your rifle. Benchrest shooters are renown for this level of exactness. They'll weigh out cases and bullets and discard any component that doesn't fall within their self-imposed tolerances."

FINALLY, a gun lubricant exists that can withstand the most extreme conditions.
After using Safari Charlie Gun Lube Plus, Floro Lavalle with Sierra Outfitters in Argentina reported cleanings were much easier, they were needed less frequently and field jamming went down to almost non-existent. While these statements may seem generic and boring, consider that they shoot on average 2000-5000 rounds per day per gun, OVER 1 MILLION ROUNDS PER YEAR, and pair that with Lavalle’s full season of using Safari Charlie Gun Lube Plus. His report was an 83% reduction in repair/replacement costs. MORE...

Best states for gun owners in 2013
Guns & Ammo
These days, it's becoming more difficult for gun owners across the country to find safe haven, as the powers that be on both federal and state levels begin introducing a quagmire of anti-gun legislation hindering the rights of law-abiding citizens. States like Illinois are notorious for their anti-gun agendas, while states like Texas are viewed as a sort of shooters' paradise.

The 1911: Not just a .45
American Rifleman
There were an even dozen calibers chambered in the M1911 pistol by Colt's Mfg. in Hartford, Conn. At the outset, understand that we will deal exclusively with the products of the original developer/manufacture — Colt. There are also several wildcat cartridges (.38-45, .460 Rowland, .45 Super, .38 Casull) that can be made to work in the original M1911 platform. Since they were not legitimized as original Colt factory chamberings, they won't be included in this discussion. Also understand that only M1911 pistols and their immediate derivative — Commanders, Officer's Models, Defenders, CCOs and the like are included.

Wisconsin marine stops assault with concealed firearm
Guns & Ammo
Typically, liberals rant about how allowing people to carry guns will turn the streets into the wild west — or at least they used to; in the 1980s they were screaming that hysterically and ABC even did a made-for-TV movie dramatizing their unrealistic anti-gun fantasies. The liberals have nearly abandoned that argument, because there are now so many states which allow CCWs — and the violent crime rate has gone down.
