Only three rifle shooters will earn their nominations to London with top performances in Women's 50m Rifle Three Position, Men's 50m Rifle Three Position and Men's 50m Rifle Prone during the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Smallbore (.22 caliber), May 31-June 11. CBS News has learned a second Inspector General is investigating Operation Fast and Furious: Homeland Security. The Department of Homeland Security had special agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement assigned to Fast and Furious, which was run by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms out of Phoenix, Ariz. During that case and similar weapons trafficking operations, ATF allowed thousands of weapons to fall into the hands of Mexican drug cartels. More

Louisiana pro-gun constitutional amendment passes state legislature

The Louisiana Senate has passed Senate Bill 303, a constitutional amendment protecting the right to keep and bear arms, by a 34 to 4 vote. This bill passed in the state House by a 77 to 22 vote last week and will now be placed on the ballot in November for voters to ratify. If approved by voters, it will be the most cogent and comprehensive pro-Second Amendment state constitutional amendment in the nation. More

Texas couple recognized for conservation service

Dale and Kitty Bounds, of Lufkin, Texas, were honored with the C.B. McCleod Award during the NWTF's National Convention and Sport Show in Nashville, Tenn. The C.B. McCleod Award is given each year to an NWTF volunteer who has dedicated his or her life to wildlife conservation. This year, a husband-wife team was the recipient. Dale joined the NWTF in 1987. More
