TSRA Gun Show takes place July 30-31

Be sure and make plans to attend the Texas State Rifle Association's 2011 Gun Show on July 30-31 at the Mesquite Convention Center. The show hours are Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The cost of admission is $8 for a day pass or $10 for a weekend pass. Kids 12 and under or free with a paid adult. If you are a TSRA member and you show your membership card at the door you get in for $6 a day or $8 for a weekend pass. More



House committee passes amendment to defund illegal firearm sales reporting requirement

Pro-gun U.S. Rep. Denny Rehberg, R-Mont., offered an amendment to prohibit the use of funds for a new and unauthorized multiple sales reporting plan proposed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The Amendment passed by a vote of 25-16. The Rehberg Amendment, strongly supported by NRA, will defund the Justice Department's controversial and illegal move requiring federally licensed firearms retailers in states bordering Mexico to report multiple sales of semi-automatic rifles. Dallas Ducks Unlimited to host fun shot

The Dallas chapter of Ducks Unlimited will host a fun shoot on Saturday, July 16, at the Dallas Gun Club in Lewisville. This is a 100 target non-sanctioned Sporting Clays event. Prizes will be awarded to high overall champion and to the first place team. There will be a small live auction, a raffle and a shooting game. More

Texan finishes 20th at ISSF World Cup in Slovenia

At the 2011 International Shooting Sport Federation World Cup in Slovenia, the USA's Staff Sergeant Joshua Richmond of Hillsgrove, Pa., climbed to fourth place overall in the men's double trap final. Richmond nailed 145 match targets and 47 out of 50 targets in the final for 192 total targets. Sergeant Glenn Eller of Katy finished in 20th place with 140 targets. More
