FINALLY, a gun lubricant exists that can withstand the most extreme conditions.
After using Safari Charlie Gun Lube Plus, Floro Lavalle with Sierra Outfitters in Argentina reported cleanings were much easier, they were needed less frequently and field jamming went down to almost non-existent. While these statements may seem generic and boring, consider that they shoot on average 2000-5000 rounds per day per gun, OVER 1 MILLION ROUNDS PER YEAR, and pair that with Lavalle’s full season of using Safari Charlie Gun Lube Plus. His report was an 83% reduction in repair/replacement costs. MORE...

Bloomberg Businessweek    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
A U.S. House committee sued Attorney General Eric Holder to enforce subpoenas in its probe of the Justice Department's "Operation Fast and Furious," a bid to track the flow of illegal weapons to Mexican drug cartels. Media bias, inaccuracy and worse
NSSF (blog)    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Recently, we noted Time magazine managing editor Richard Stengel's misrepresentation of America's most popular sporting rifle when he wrote that the "AR-15 has little or no sporting purpose." Though millions of Americans use these rifles for target shooting, Stengel apparently thinks he knows best. Last week, Time magazine editor and columnist and CNN television host Fareed Zakaria was caught plagiarizing in his article, "The Case for Gun Control." More

Texas deer hunting season forecast bright as range conditions improve
Examiner    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Texas is big deer country; all of it. There are a number of other states that feature excellent habitat and genetics, but none measure up to the sheer size of the Lone Star State's population. The same can be said when it comes to headgear and simply put, almost any hunter toting archery gear in October or a tested rifle during the dead of winter has the opportunity to find the buck of a lifetime not far away. Few changes to mule deer hunts due to CWD finding
Lone Star Outdoor News    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Now that CWD has been found in far West Texas, what does it mean for mule deer hunters? Mandatory check stations will be set up in the Containment Zone, likely in Cornulas and Van Horn, although the rules will be finalized after the August meeting of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission. In the adjacent High Risk Zone, other check stations are planned, although taking the deer for testing would be voluntary. More

    The evolution of marksmanship
Gun Digest (blog)    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
From Wayne van Zwoll: One shot does not a marksman make. Neither does it demonstrate accuracy. A single hole, in an animal or a paper target, shows only that you fired the rifle. It takes more to achieve true marksmanship. During the iron-sight stage of a smallbore match years ago, I settled into prone and accidentally brushed the trigger. Dismayed, I hardly dared peek into the spotting scope. More
