Ruger creates 450 new jobs in North Carolina

Gov. Pat McCrory and North Carolina Commerce Sec. Sharon Decker announced that Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. will establish a new manufacturing facility in Rockingham County, N.C. Over 450 new jobs will be created by the end of 2017 and more than $26 million will be invested in the new Mayodan location.

Report: 3-D-printed rifle successfully fires 14 rounds

A Canadian rifle maker has successfully fired a 3-D-printed rifle, based on firearms designer Cody Wilson's work on a homemade handgun crafted from thermoplastics. Mashable.com reports that "Matthew" has successfully fired 14 rounds from a .22 rifle created from a 3-D printer.

Domestic violence, due process and gun-rights

Domestic violence makes us think of battered women. It is that, and it is more. Sometimes the real victim is abused twice; once by their abuser and once by the law. We need the full due process of the legal system to protect the innocent victim of domestic abuse. We want the law to make things better. At worst we want the law to do no harm to the innocent party. That simple requirement makes good law hard to find. The innocent person can be savaged by average laws in the hands of corrupt prosecutors and clever accusers. We've seen this time and again with gun laws. Let me show you the evil hidden in poorly crafted laws that take guns from those "accused" of domestic violence.
