White House eyes 'gun trust' loophole
The Hill
The Obama administration is working to close a loophole in the nation's gun laws that allows for some machine guns and sawed-off shotguns to be sold without the buyer submitting fingerprints or photographs. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is working on a new regulation that would require more background information when the weapons are sold to someone through a corporation or legal trust.

Couchbunker
American Rifleman
Made by Heracles Research Corporation, the same people who introduced the BedBunker, the CouchBunker is a fire-rated gun safe hidden inside a couch. The storage area is 78-inches long, 29.5-inches wide and 14-inches deep, an area which the company claims can hold up to 30 rifles. This really means it will hold approximately 20 long guns comfortably, with a little room for ammo or other survival gear.

Handgun review: Custom Taurus Judge
The Daily Caller
When the Taurus Judge first popped on the scene sometime around 2007, the big bore wheelgun, capable of firing virtually every .45-caliber round ever developed as well as .410 shotgun shells, was regaled for its novelty more so than respected for its true intention: To create one bad ass defensive handgun. But regardless of what drove the initial interest in the Judge, the interest was indeed there, and has continued so that Taurus continues to add configurations to the line that continues to garner plenty of fans — no small feat in this age of semi — auto handgunning.

Overmilitarization: Why law enforcement needs to scale down its use of military hardware and tactics
The Heritage Foundation
In 2013, there are thousands of SWAT teams in America. Federal, state and local government agencies use military-grade hardware and tactics not only to deal with states of emergency for which they are well-suited, but also to conduct regulatory inspections for which they are not. The resulting overmilitarization has inflicted a great deal of unnecessary harm. Potent law enforcement tools designed for exceptional cases have been wielded too readily, leaving catastrophic damage in their wake.

The Daily Caller
A petition on the formal White House petitions website called for "gun free" zones to be extended to politicians, saying if it's good enough for children in schools and other places where otherwise legal firearm carry by private citizens is prohibited, then it should be good enough for our country's leaders, right? Wrong.
