Ruger's 10/22: 'One of the best things' for 50 years
American Rifleman
The 10/22’s open pistol grip, the just-right thickness of the wrist, and the seamless transition of wood to the receiver’s sloping top all made it easy on the eyes, but it was also easy on the wallet — the original price, after all, was only $54.50. Ruger made sure that potential buyers had no compelling reason to look elsewhere based on price alone.

Sasser: Wetlands project should benefit water quality and hunting
The Dallas Morning News
The long-awaited completion of the Richland Creek Wildlife Management Area wetlands units is good news for public-area duck hunters, though waterfowl are a secondary benefit of the $75 million project. It’s taken 20 years to complete the 2,000-acres of manmade wetland cells that filter murky Trinity River water through a variety of plants and soils and deliver much cleaner water to Richland Chambers Reservoir, a major water source for the Tarrant Regional Water District.

Supreme Court to decide whether felons can sell their guns
GUNS
After shying away from a number of potentially pivotal Second Amendment cases in recent months, the Supreme Court agreed to decide whether a gun owner convicted of a felony has the rights to sell off his gun collection. In the case Henderson v. United States, Tony Henderson surrendered 15 guns to the Federal Bureau of Investigation per court order following a 2006 charge for distributing marijuana. After his plea and six-month sentence, he was denied the ability to transfer his guns upon sale to a third party. The FBI explained to him that doing so would “amount to constructive possession.”

For the first time in several years, ducks heading into Texas won’t be landing in the dirt thanks to decent rainfall across much of the state in recent months. It’s a reprieve from the drought waterfowlers have been waiting for, particularly in light of reports of record numbers of ducks heading this way.
