Expedia has acquired Travelocity for $280 million in cash

Travel booking website Expedia has acquired partner travel service Travelocity from Sabre Corporation for $280 million in cash. Travelocity joins Expedia's growing travel website portfolio with brands like Expedia.com, Hotels.com, eLong, Hotwire, Trivago, CarRentals.com, Venere.com and Egencia. As of last year, Expedia has been powering Travelocity's U.S. and Canadian websites along with its hotel supply and customer service programs.More

FAA warns e-cigarettes a fire danger in checked airline bags

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, which already bans flammables and explosives in checked baggage, is now warning airlines about the fire risk from e-cigarettes.
