Roger Dow's State of the Travel Industry

TTIA Legislative Update — Feb. 10, 2015
The 84th Legislature have convened to begin work on addressing some of the state's pressing issues including writing a state budget within adopted budget constraints, critical transportation infrastructure funding needs as well as education funding issues, specifically, funding for school counselors, student vocational education and student enrollment growth.

Travel industry reports increased employment, exports

In spite of a surging dollar, the travel industry continues to grow, according to the U.S. Travel Association, which recently reported the latest travel employment and export data from the U.S. Departments of Labor and Commerce. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, travel industry employment increased for the seventh consecutive month in January, rising by 13,500 to a total of 8.1 million jobs.
