International visitors to US expected to reach record 88.3 million in 2014
International tourism to the U.S. is expected to grow to 88.3 million annual visitors 2019, a 27 percent increase and more than 18 million more visitors than arrived in the U.S. in 2013. This revised forecast was released by the U.S. Department of Commerce recently and it was based on the National Travel and Tourism Office's 2014 Fall Travel Forecast.

Americans taking fewest vacation days in four decades
Feeling buried by work, like you can't find time for a few days off, like your entire work-life balance is out of whack? If you're an American worker, it just might be. A new study has found that U.S. workers forfeited $52.4 billion in time-off benefits in 2013 and took less vacation time than at any point in the past four decades.

Update: Consumer confidence jumps in October
U.S. consumer confidence rose in October to its highest level since October 2007 as views on the job market improved, according to a private sector report released recently. The Conference Board, an industry group, said its index of consumer attitudes rose to 94.5 from a upwardly revised reading of 89.0 the month before.

National Parks' Centennial Campaign expected to boost outdoor recreation
The outdoor recreation market, which currently generates more then $650 billion in annual spending, is expected to grow significantly in the coming year, according to Outdoor Recreation Outlook 2015, a new report from the American Recreation Coalition. National parks are a major driver of the outdoor recreation marketing in the U.S. and the National Park System is kicking off its Centennial Campaign in the first quarter of 2015.
