Texas named among top global regions to visit
Houston Business Journal
Texas has been named among the Top 10 must-visit regions in 2014 by Lonely Planet. Texas ranked fifth on the travel media site's 10 destination recommendations. A panel of travel experts picked the locations based on their "natural beauty and cultural riches," according to the site.

North Texas 'aerotropolis' adds $31.6 billion to economy

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport generated $31.6 billion in economic activity this year for North Texas, a region that can be understood as an "aerotropolis" of passengers and freight connected to the world, airport officials said. Airport vice president John Terrell said the growth estimate was from an economic impact analysis nearing completion by the University of North Texas Center of Economic Development and Research.

FAA green-lights gate-to-gate in-flight personal electronics use

The Federal Aviation Administration announced that it had determined portable electronic devices — including phones on airplane mode, tablets, laptops, e-readers and video games — are safe to use during all phases of a flight "with very limited exceptions."
