More Americans expected to fly this Thanksgiving

As many as 25 million passengers are expected to fly this Thanksgiving travel season, up from just under 24 million last year. The estimate, part of the 2013 Thanksgiving Travel Forecast released by the trade organization Airlines for America, represents a 1.5 percent increase over 2012 and covers the 12-day period from Friday, Nov. 22, through Tuesday, Dec. 3.

House passes bill restricting government meetings, travel

The U.S. House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly in favor — 388 to 1 — of H.R. 2061, otherwise known as the Digital Accountability and Transparency Act. Sponsored by Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., the bill is intended to increase transparency around government spending by increasing financial reporting requirements for federal agencies.

Almost half of economy class fliers now willing to pay more for space
Business travelers are tired of their economy class seats and spending more time and money researching how squeezed they'll be on their next flight. Forty-one percent of economy passengers are willing to pay more to get better comfort within economy class and 34 percent of frequent travelers say they research seat size before purchasing a flight.

1 million people become 'Trusted Travelers' under Global Entry program
Successful Meetings
One million people have been given the designation "trusted traveler" under its Global Entry program, U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced. Launched in 2008, Global Entry allows expedited entry into the United States for pre-approved, low-risk international travelers. Originally piloted at just three airports, it's now available at 44 airports nationwide.
