According to Facebook, it is due to the increase in the amount of content, the increasing number of businesses building a presence on the site and an effort to crack down on spam. But many also believe that Facebook has decreased the reach of pages in order to make businesses pay for promoted posts and advertisements, thus increasing revenue for Facebook. So just like everything online, there are a few ways that might help increase your reach on Facebook without having to pay for promoted posts or ads.

From Feb. 26: In an increasingly noisy and crowded digital landscape, marketers have to use visuals to stand out from the immense competition. Blogs were the first form of networking online where people/companies/brands would post content in order to be found. The world then moved onto Facebook, where our content became shorter. Then microblogs like Twitter came along, and our content became even shorter to 140 characters. Now we are skipping text altogether with the rise of visual social networks like Instagram and Pinterest, which allow marketers to show their creative prowess.
