American Express predicts 'stabilization' of meetings activity in 2014

A rise in policies designed to ensure meetings comply with company policies and strategic objectives means that meetings activity will likely "stabilize" next year, according to American Express Meetings & Events, which in its "2014 Global Meetings Forecast" predicts flat or slight declines in meetings spend across the globe in 2014.

Report: Travelers writing fewer reviews and being (somewhat) kinder, while hoteliers are responding more

Fewer reviews, marginally higher scores and it is far more difficult to score five stars are the latest findings that compare user-generated hotel reviews over a yearlong period. The team at TrustYou, working in conjunction with Donna Quadri-Felitti, Ph.D., at New York University, Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports Management, has developed its first quarterly report identifying key trends in travelers' reviews and hotel satisfaction.
