Comptroller: Texas economy will keep adding jobs in 2014-15

Texas Comptroller Susan Combs delivered revenue estimates to the Legislature that included a roughly $2.5 billion surplus. Combs' report also projected Texas will continue adding jobs at a healthy pace over the next two years, though not at the same tick as previously.

The U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Economic Analysis recently announced that international visitors spent $15.2 billion on travel to, and tourism-related activities within, the United States during the month of October — nearly $1.4 billion more (10 percent) than was spent in October 2012.

Last week, it initiated a period of public comment on proposed rules that would give airlines the ability — if they choose — to install equipment that expands in-flight mobile wireless services to passengers.
