The 2018 Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event will mark the 18th consecutive year of the Prince Philip Cup. The event features the top four Junior teams from the 2017 Games Championships. The tentative competition schedule is:
Friday, April 27
12:30 p.m. Celebrity Challenge Round, Walnut Ring
1:00 p.m. Prince Philip Cup Games Round 1, Walnut Ring
Saturday, April 28
8:30 a.m. Prince Philip Cup Games Round 2, followed by Awards, Walnut Ring
Sunday, April 29
11:30 a.m. Presentation of Awards, Rolex Stadium

Equestrian Events Inc. has graciously offered 2 sets of four-day admission passes to the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event, for each of the USPC Regions. To take advantage of this offer, the RS of any interested regions must email erin@ponyclub.org by March 15th, 2018.

Have you ever wanted to see what a career in Equine Media would really be like? Now is your opportunity! USPC is now accepting essays for the Media Internship at the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event. Only two Pony Club members will get to attend press conferences and a tour of the Land Rover Kentucky Media Center with Pony Club Alumni Ann Haller. You must be certified a C-2 or above and be between 15-20 years of age to apply.
Essay Requirements: As equestrians, we all know that it takes a community to support and help that person reach their goals. Please discuss the “village” that it takes for riders to reach those goals in 500 words or less. Please email essays to activities@ponyclub.org by Monday, April 16th, by 5pm Eastern Time. Must already be planning to attend the event. (No admission passes or travel expenses included)

Each year, USPC sends a team of the top three or four pony/rider combinations to the USEF Pony Jumper Finals in August at the Kentucky Horse Park. Riders must be current members in good standing with USPC, have a minimum D-3 certification, and declare their intent to compete for USPC by March 15. Riders must also be members of USEF and ponies must be recorded with USEF at the time of declaring their intent to compete for Pony Club. Spring is coming, and so are the 2018 Championships East and West. Pony Club is excited to return to the Tryon International Equestrian Center in Mills Springs, NC on July 25-29, 2018 for Championships East. Entries open May 1, and close at noon EST on July 2, 2018.
Pony Club goes to Washington State for 2018 Championships West will be located at Donida Farm Equestrian Center in Auburn, WA and Championships West Eventing conjunction with the Area VII Young Rider Benefit H.T. in Chehalis, WA, August 6-12, 2018. Don’t forget, cross entering is permitted for Championships West. Entries open May 1, and close at noon EST on July 16, 2018.

We are proud to be offering a USEA Instructor Certification Program Workshop on the West Coast in 2018. We will be offering a three day ICP Young Event Horse Workshop for Instructors and Professional Trainers June 15-17, 2018 in Waterford, California.
USPC is hosting this workshop to give Pony Club Instructors and Upper Level PC members an opportunity to acquire a knowledge base, both theoretical and practical, upon which they can continue to build throughout their teaching lifetime. This workshop will be open to the general public as well, on a space-available basis.
At the ICP’s Young Event Horse Workshop, the Faculty (USEA clinician) assists the candidate instructor in acquiring the eye, the knowledge base, both theoretical and practical, and the teaching judgment that are suited specifically for the purpose of assisting Young Event Horse riders. Both amateur and professional as they educate these instructors to accept, understand, and respond positively to a rider’s seat and aids for direction, pace, change of direction and pace, balance, impulsion, and suppleness, both on the flat and while jumping. Sunday, June 17, 8am to 3pm – Individual candidate review (no auditors on Sunday afternoon)
