The yearly contest to show Pony Club teamwork is here! Kathy Aranosian (owner of Flash, the USPC 50th Anniversary Breyer Model) sponsors a yearly contest, to encourage the kind of teamwork generated by her club when they were writing about Flash. A 1-1/2 page essay may be submitted by a Pony Club or Riding Center telling how a special equine, a special event, or a special member or volunteer had a team-building experience on Pony Club members. Entries must be postmarked by November 4th. Please email or mail essays, along with any photos of the event, the pony, or the special honoree, to: Editor, Pony Club News, 4041 Iron Works Parkway, Lexington, KY 40511. Entries will be reviewed and the winner selected by December 1st. The winner is honored by inclusion in a perpetual trophy kept in the Pony Club National Office, a julep cup, a complimentary Breyer model of Flash and presentation of the award at the USPC Annual Meeting and Equine Symposium held in Louisville, Ky in January, 2018.

In 2018, Great Britain will host the annual International Games Competition, which rotates between the US, Canada, Great Britain and Australia. More information will be available once an actual invitation is received.
The Regional Supervisor may nominate as many applications as he/she has for consideration. If a region has more than one applicant, the RS may rank order his/her applicants when submitting the regional applications. This ordering shall be based on any criteria the RS wishes to apply, and shall be at the sole discretion of the RS. The nominated candidates shall not be made aware of their rank, unless the RS wishes to divulge that information.
The Selection Committee will keep all information received strictly confidential. The RS will forward their nominations to Erin@ponyclub.org prior to the applicant submitting their application. The RS, DC/CA and other recommendation forms will be available online also.
The remainder of the application process is to be produced by the candidates. This year the application will be an online application and the riding video can be done on You Tube, so that everything is electronic. The online application may also be downloaded and mailed to the National Office. Riding videos shall show the skills as detailed in the current USPC Games Handbook and Rules for Games Competition. The same information is also available on the USPC website. Applications are being accepted now. Please encourage any Pony Club members who wish to be on the team to work on their applications so that they may be received by the Selection Committee in a timely fashion. The deadline for receipt of applications is October 1st, 2017, with November 1st being the target to announce team selection. Applications received after October 1st, may not be accepted.
Send the written applications and You Tube links to: Erin@ponyclub.org.
