Virginia gun sales normalize in 2014
VSSA
The Richmond-Times Dispatch reports that Virginia firearm transactions through the state police instant background check system dropped 15 percent in 2014 from the number registered in 2013. This is to be expected as 2013 saw a huge increase in sales driven by the gun ban push by President Barack Obama after the Sandy Hook school shooting. Things actually normalized with no major threats in 2014.

At a recent press conference, Gov. Terry McAuliffe announced his planned legislation, which includes provisions for keeping guns out of the hands of perpetrators of certain misdemeanors, domestic abusers, delinquent payers of child support and others. The governor also seeks to close the so-called gun show loophole, which doesn't require private vendors at gun shows to conduct background checks.

How recoil spring rate affects timing
Shooting Times
Recoil spring rate must be balanced with the ammunition in order to keep the gun running reliably and to prevent excess wear from battering. Spring rate affects timing during the recoil and feeding cycle. If the recoil spring is too strong, the gun won't cycle reliably. This can cause failures in extraction and ejection, and feeding malfunctions by not going far enough to the rear, or by cycling so fast that the round in the magazine hasn't been pushed up far enough for proper engagement.
