DC inches closer to contempt ruling over concealed gun law
Washington Times
VideoBrief The D.C. Council plans, with a few modifications, to make permanent the same concealed carry regulations lawmakers passed on a temporary basis — despite the fact a federal judge is considering whether to hold the city in contempt over the law.

For modern societies to survive, lawful citizens must be armed
Bearing Arms
In a modern world where crime and terrorism can move at the speed of social media, where humans have unprecedented access to multiple modes of rapid travel, governments are coming to realize that threats can come from anywhere, at any time, and that there simply aren't enough law enforcement officers or military servicemen to prevent crime or terrorist attacks. These nations are being forced to concede that the natural human right of the citizenry to be armed for their self-defense must be honored if their cultures are to survive.

Webb 2016?
Shall Not Be Questioned
Jim Webb looks to be throwing his hat into the ring for 2016. For Democrats these days, Webb would be pretty good on the gun issue. The big problem on guns we'd have with Webb would be Supreme Court appointments. He'd likely be expected to pick solid liberals. Even if he went with moderates, I think we'd have an uphill climb on the gun issue with any Democratic pick.

Golden State carry: Could a California ruling redefine the right to bear arms?
Guns & Ammo
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in District of Columbia v. Heller (2008) that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to bear arms. It then ruled in McDonald v. Chicago (2010) that this right also restricts state and local governments. Since 2010, the high court has stayed out of the battle to define what the Second Amendment specifically protects. Now a California case, Peruta v. San Diego County, might change this.

Gun ownership more than doubles in US
High Point Enterprise
Across America, there has apparently been a paradigm shift concerning firearms ownership in the last few years. The Federal Bureau of Investigation released a report on Nov. 10 showing what we in the gun community have known forever: More guns have little effect on crime and if anything, equal less crime. At a time when gun ownership is at a record high, violent crime has dropped, as has property crimes.

Don't believe what you see on TV: Adjust your hunting expectations
By John McAdams
In this age of social media and hunting television shows, many new hunters have pretty unrealistic expectations of how successful they will be during their first few hunting seasons. With this in mind, here is how to properly adjust your hunting expectations to avoid experiencing disappointment from failing to achieve an unrealistic goal.

Step by step: Here is what will happen after a defensive shooting
The Shooting Channel via The Daily Caller
Having taught over 16,000 concealed carry students and been involved as an expert witness in numerous shooting cases, I am always surprised by the concealed carry shooters lack of understanding of the post shooting process. Sadly, this lack of knowledge is often due to an incomplete presentation offered by the CCW instructor or is further perpetuated by the no training requirement found in some states.

LaserLyte and AR training
The Shooter's Log
One of the problems with aperture or magnified rifle sights is their relatively slow acquisition up close. Point shooting is a solution, although learning it requires substantial and constant practice, with expense in range time and ammunition. The AR-15, in particular, doesn't lend itself to pointing as easily as conventionally stocked guns. The LaserLyte AR training kit addresses this issue, as well as several others plus it's easy to install.

Attorneys argue that Florida State library attack shows need for statewide campus carry
Bearing Arms
It may not sound like long in most contexts, but it can be an eternity when you are a college student trapped in a campus building where a deranged attacker is methodically stalking and killing everything he meets. It is because of this momentary eternity and the need to deploy a firearm immediately when mass killers and criminals display deadly intent that gun right attorney in Florida are fighting even harder now for the right of faculty and staff to legally concealed carry on campus.

Women's concealed carry: 5 holsters that work
The Shooter's Log
Every body — the way we are shaped — is different. There is no denying women are shaped differently than men; this means traditional holsters probably won't fit any of us well. Deciding which concealed carry setup works for you can be time consuming, expensive and just plain frustrating. There are so many choices with little guidance on which holster to choose. It is very overwhelming for the new gun owner or to those new to conceal carry.
