Maryland is proposing a bill (SB 505) that would prohibit retail pet stores from selling or taking certain other actions with a dog less than nine months old. Ohio's Department of Natural Resources has published a proposed regulation governing reptile and amphibian licensing and permits. Oklahoma House Bill 2475 establishes the "Pet Quality Assurance and Protection Act" requiring licensure for any person who sells, gives away or transfers 35 or more dogs and cats. The bill covers licensing procedures, record keeping requirements, inspections and penalties for dog and cat breeders. A hearing has been set for Wednesday, Feb. 10 in the House Committee on Economic Development & Financial Services. More
