After studying Hollywood actors for three years, MIT Professor Ezra Zuckerman found that actors who typecast themselves early in their careers tend to earn more money, have longer lifespans, and enjoy more fame compared to generalist actors. Moreover, young actors who specialize are able to land their first role quicker and receive more job offers over the course of their careers. NRF: February retail sales mark 20 months of consecutive growth

With a spring in their step, retailers marked 20 consecutive months of sustained year-over-year retail sales growth in February as unseasonably warm temperatures and comparisons with weak sales in 2011 resulted in stronger-than-expected increases. According to the National Retail Federation, the world's largest retail trade association, February retail industry sales (excluding automobiles, gas stations and restaurants) increased 0.5 percent seasonally adjusted from January, and 8.6 percent unadjusted year-over-year. New Jersey township puts pet ban on hold

At its regular meeting March 13, 2012, the Brick, N.J Township Council considered an ordinance to ban the sale of dogs and cats in pet stores and kennels. Because of the level of feedback on the proposal, the Council elected to temporarily table it pending action by a subcommittee. The original proposal would have prohibited pet shops from selling dogs and cats as well as banning any kennel housing more than 10 dogs and cats a year. This proposal is not yet dead, and those concerned about a future pet ban in Brick Township are urged to contact members of the committee to express opposition. More
