Survey: Chemicals in cleaning products cause concern for pet owners

As U.S. pet owners begin their annual spring cleaning, some are concerned that their efforts to remove dirt and grime might be harmful to their four-legged friends, according to a survey released April 8 by The Bramton Co. Of the survey's 2,482 respondents, more than half said they worry that their pets might be ingesting chemical residue left behind from household cleaning products. More

Maryland bill to ban puppy sale is dead

Legislation before the Maryland Senate Committee on Finance that would have prohibited pet stores from selling puppies has officially died. PIJAC testified against Senate Bill 505 and then engaged in multiple meetings with the committee Chair, Senate sponsor and the bill's proponent, HSUS. Also involved in negotiations to achieve a consensus bill was Maryland pet store owner and PIJAC member Chris Houck. More
