Tips for growing your small business in our current economy
GroundReport

Restoring confidence
Pet Business
Today's shoppers are approaching the pet food aisle with a healthy dose of skepticism, so pet retailers must go above and beyond to ensure confidence in this important segment of their business. The black eye that the pet food category suffered from the massive recall in 2007 has yet to fade. Although six years have passed since products from dozens of pet food brands were pulled from retail shelves because of possible melamine contamination, recalls remain a fact of life in the category, and each one sends aftershocks of doubt through the pet-owning public.

The Texas Veterinary Medical Association applauded the decision, saying that had the appellate ruling stood, the cost of ownership and care of a pet would become prohibitive for many people.
