Petfood Forum 2015 breaks attendance records

The Petfood Forum 2015 conference and exhibition broke all records for attendance. Held April 27-29, Petfood Forum 2015 settled into its new location at the Kansas City Convention Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Overall attendance figures grew to nearly 2,500 industry professionals from over 40 countries, a 50 percent increase from 2014.

FTC: Pet medications market could be more competitive

The market for pet medications has become much more competitive during the past decade, but consumers could benefit more from three things: broader access to portable prescriptions, a greater choice of generic drugs and wider access by nonveterinary retailers to supplies, according to a Federal Trade Commission staff report. The 121-page document stands as a polite rebuke to an established policy by many of the largest veterinary drug manufacturers to sell medications exclusively through veterinarians.
