There are a lot of options for stocking a fish room. There are things you really have to have, would do well to have and things that will set you apart. Then there's all the stuff that doesn't sell ... but let's sort out how to manage it all. A knowledgeable fish room person knows about fish that are not commonly available to the public. They probably have seen enough guppies and neon tetras to last a lifetime, and are looking to see something new and different.

Ohio House OKs bill to make serious pet abuse a felony crime
The Associated Press via Houston Chronicle
Legislation passed by the Ohio House would stiffen penalties for abuse of pets and other companion animals. The House overwhelmingly voted June 25 in favor of the measure. The Senate has yet to consider it.

Supplements sales add up

More than just a crossover product from the human market, pet supplement sales are ready to increase after enduring a modest compound annual growth rate of 4 percent between 2010 and 2014, according to Pet Supplements in the U.S., 5th Edition, a report by Rockville, Maryland-based research firm Packaged Facts. In fact, the firm predicts this increase to go from $541 million in 2014 to more than $697 million in 2019.
