Putting romance back into retail
Retail Customer Experience    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Retailing has changed more in the last 3 years than in the past 3 decades. Actually, it is the consumers who have changed. In many ways retailers are still trying to play catch-up to a consumer centric world. The best consumer brands and retailers are finding ways to romance consumers with more ways to fall in love with products they try out while they are in the store. More

Trenton Courier-Post    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
A cat-and-dog fight has broken out among state legislators over the issue of driving with pets. A North Jersey assemblywoman last week proposed a bill that would require pets be restrained in moving vehicles. But nine other Assembly members, including one from South Jersey, are pushing a rival measure that would let Fido run free. Behind both bills is a furor sparked by a press conference held earlier this year by the New Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. More

Like any true celebrity, Uggie, the Jack Russell terrier from "The Artist" and "Water for Elephants," puts in his time on the treadmill. At 10, Uggie doesn't do a heavy workout, just a light trot and walking, said owner-trainer Omar Von Muller of Los Angeles. But Von Muller bought Uggie a DogPacer for those times when he can't go out because of weather, work or paparazzi. More

American Humane survey setermines why some don't own pets
Veterinary Practice News    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
The cost of pet ownership, a lack of time to care for a cat or dog, and grief over an animal's death are among the main reasons people don’t have pets, according to the first phase of an American Humane Association survey. The association's Animal Welfare Research Institute in Washington, D.C., which is conducting the ongoing study, also found a strong dislike for cats among more than one-third of people who do not own pets.
