WWPIA Changes Name; Elects Officers, Directors

The World Wide Pet Industry Association (WWPIA), the oldest nonprofit trade organization in the pet industry, has announced changes to the organization's name and the election of its new Board of Officers. The changes were implemented at the group's 59th annual meeting, held in conjunction with SuperZoo, the national show for pet retailers, hosted in Las Vegas Sept. 15-17. The World Wide Pet Industry Association will now be known as the World Pet Association (WPA). More

PIJAC Launches New Membership Campaign for Pet Owners

The Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council (PIJAC) has borrowed a line from Texas with its new membership campaign "Don't Mess with My Pet." The new initiative, unveiled Sept. 16, aims to educate the public on legislation that could restrict pet ownership. It marks the first time individual pet owners will be able to join the Washington, D.C.-based organization.  More

Wisconsin Looks to Regulate Dog Sales
