Aquatic Experience surfaces in Chicago for a 2nd go-round

When the World Pet Association of Monrovia, California, decided to elevate the Aquatic Experience portion of its America's Family Pet Expo, an annual pet and pet products trade show held in Orange County, California, to full trade show status, the positive buzz in the aquarium hobby and industry was evident. While the WPA plans and will oversee the Aquatic Experience trade show, the details as they pertain to aquarists and aquatic industry exhibitors who will be there are decided by the WPA's Aquatic Committee.

Ultra Paws acquires Pedigree Perfection International Inc.

Ultra Paws, a dog gear and apparel producer based in Baxter, Minnesota, had long-admired Pedigree Perfection International Inc.'s products, particularly the Sunrise, Florida-based company's all-weather waterproof PawTectors dog boots. One thing lead to another, and now Ultra Paws has disclosed that it has purchased Pedigree Perfection, including all of its products, patents and trademarks, after being approached by Pedigree co-founder Rhonda Meloro about selling the business.

Coastal Pet Products awards scholarships to animal behavior college students

Coastal Pet Products awarded two Animal Behavior College Dog Obedience Program students with scholarships of $500 each. The recipients, Ashlie Bonicelli of Aurora, Colorado, and Paul D. Lopez of Homestead, Florida, were selected for their commitment to the dog training profession. "Coastal Pet Products is pleased to have the opportunity to support educational opportunities such as this one," said Diane Thomas, marketing manager.

WPA honors Cardinal's Tony de Vos
Grooming Business
The World Pet Association honored Tony de Vos, president and CEO of Cardinal Laboratories, with its Lifetime Achievement Award. The award was presented at the SuperZoo trade show, which was held in Las Vegas July 22-24. "Over the past 42 years, Tony de Vos has selflessly led and mentored those in the pet business on natural pet products, and ecological and sustainable business practices," said Michael Twain, vice chairman of WPA.
