NexPet's 15th Anniversary Convention and Mini-Show
NexPet Retailer Co-op
NexPet, the national co-op group of independent pet retailers, will hold its 15th Anniversary National Convention and Manufacturer Mini-Show on March 3, the day before the Global Pet Expo in Orlando, Florida. The location is the Orange County Convention Center, with the event being held in conjunction with Global. This conference is only open to NexPet retail members, retailers stocking its private-label pet food and supporting vendors.

Pet food industry expected to grow to $33 billion by 2018 on strength of premium foods

Packaged Facts, a division of MarketResearch.com, released a summary of its "Pet Food in the U.S.," 11th Edition report. Author George Puro of the Puro Research Group, a market research firm in White Plains, New York, expects the U.S. pet food industry to grow by 16 percent and top $33 billion by 2018. But not for the reasons people might think.

Pets in the Classroom Program reaches 2.5 million students

Over 50,000 teachers nationwide have been provided with classroom pets through the Pet Care Trust's Pets in the Classroom grant program, impacting the lives of approximately 2.5 million students. The Pet Care Trust has surpassed the halfway point of its goal of introducing 5 million children in 10,000 classrooms. The organization is continuing to help teachers impact future generations through its grant program.
