Congressional leaders and the pet industry join forces in support of the Pets on Trains Act of 2013

An estimated 29.1 million Americans have traveled with a pet in the past three years. But given the current regulations on national rail transportation, the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council knows they did not do it by train. The Pets on Trains Act of 2013 would open the doors on Amtrak and permit four-legged companions to join their owners on rail journeys.

Grain-free pet food growing in popularity

American pets are gobbling up more than $1.7 billion a year in grain-free food, a market research company reported. Sales of grain-free pet food have jumped by 28 percent over the past year, according to The GfK Group, a German-based company that tracks business at more than 11,000 U.S. pet stores.
