The technique may allow researchers to better understand the links between radiation exposure and illnesses such as cancer. A huge percentage of underprivileged children in Los Angeles County have infectious dental disease that has gone unchecked, according to a study led by the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC. In the report released during February's National Children's Dental Health Month, researchers Roseann Mulligan and Hazem Seirawan reveal that a staggering 73 percent of disadvantaged youngsters have untreated caries, the bacterial disease responsible for tooth decay. Poligrip denture cream linked to zinc poisoning

GlaxoSmithKline has decided to stop using zinc in its Poligrip denture cream after hundreds of users filed lawsuits claiming the product had damaged their nervous systems, The Associated Press reported. The lawsuits alleged that use of Poligrip has led to loss of balance, sensation loss in the hands and feet, and paralysis in some consumers. More
