It's time to exceed expectations regarding dental office infection control
DentistryIQ
Well-informed dental healthcare workers understand the importance of protecting themselves from the imminent risk of exposure to, and possible infection from, infectious organisms. In addition to acquiring recommended vaccines, they go to great lengths to guard themselves from exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials by using various recommended personal protective equipment and aseptic techniques during their interactions with patients and other potentially contaminated items and surfaces.

Don't become a victim just because you work in a toxic workplace; help to better your dental office
DentistryIQ
"Toxic workplaces" are a hot topic in business literature. Apparently rightfully so, as negative work environments are growing, both in number and in their reach across multiple business sectors. Employee surveys document the downward spiral of job satisfaction and employee engagement across all types of industries and environments, including dentistry. But a victim mentality is also starting to emerge in the world of work, which probably reflects this growing tendency in our culture at large. The tenor of the message increasingly sounds like, "Woe is me! I work in a toxic workplace," or "You should feel sorry for me because I have a really terrible boss."

Head, heart and hands
AADOM
"People often tell me that motivation doesn't last, and I tell them that bathing doesn’t either. That's why I recommend it daily." – Zig Ziglar

Throughout the year, dentists and their teams are constantly looking for opportunities to drive their practices "to the next level." The essential ingredient of achieving this is the teamwork of a cooperative and motivated team. At virtually every program that I attend, doctors ask me, "How do I motivate my team?" or "What can I do to get them to do what I need them to? … I don't understand why they just don’t get it!"

Soda and fruit juice are 'biggest culprits in dental erosion'
Medical News Today
Soft drinks are the most significant factor in severity of dental erosion, according to a new study published in the Journal of Public Health Dentistry. Dental erosion is when enamel — the hard, protective coating of the tooth — is worn away by exposure to acid. The erosion of the enamel can result in pain — particularly when consuming hot or cold food — as it leaves the sensitive dentine area of the tooth exposed.
