FAA Agrees with ARSA on Work Instructions
On April 20, ARSA received a positive response from the FAA to a May 29, 2014 request for clarification of (1) a repair station's ability to develop and use work instructions and (2) the exact requirements for accessibility of relevant maintenance data during the performance of maintenance functions.

ARSA on UAS Rule — Don't Bite Off More than FAA Can Chew

FAA Receives 4,000-Plus Comments to Drone Rule

The Federal Aviation Administration received 4,499 comments to its notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) to regulate small unmanned aircraft systems weighing less than 55 pounds, a government website indicates. The public comment period closed on April 24; the FAA will now assess those comments in formulating a final regulation.

Malaysia Airlines (MAS), has GONE-LIVE with Ramco Aviation Solution in a record time of 11 months. The solution will provide maintenance, repair and overhaul (“MRO”) support for over 145 aircraft, across multiple locations. FAA Targets Later This Year for Part 23 Proposal

The FAA is on pace to release the Part 23 rewrite notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) later this year, FAA Administrator Michael Huerta confirmed. General aviation leaders have pushed the agency to release an NPRM on the light aircraft certification standards this summer, fearing any later release could cause lengthy delays as the rulemaking gets caught up in a change of administrations in 2017.
