Filler to Present 'Public Aircraft Operations Primer' Webinar at Noon Today
The presentation will focus on basic requirements for public aircraft operations on behalf of federal, state and local governments. Course material includes the difference between government-owned and government-leased aircraft, what constitutes an eligible governmental function, and the practical implications of using the same aircraft to conduct both civil and public operations.

The association offers weekly webinars, with experts from Obadal, Filler, MacLeod & Klein, to address a variety of business and compliance issues confronting the aviation industry. Instructors will work off a PowerPoint presentation that will be provided to participants.

The association will hold its next webinar, titled "Public Aircraft Operations Primer" and featuring Marshall S. Filler, Managing Member, Obadal, Filler, MacLeod & Klein, and Managing Director, ARSA, today at noon (eastern).

FAA Updates Form 8130-3
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recently announced a revised FAA Form 8130-3, used for domestic airworthiness approval of new products and articles; approval for return to service of altered aircraft parts; and export airworthiness approvals of aircraft engines, propellers, or articles. The FAA revised the form as part of harmonization efforts with other civil aviation authorities to ease the identification and traceability of goods between the U.S. and other countries.

Boeing Expects Demand for Aircraft to Remain Strong

Chicago-based Boeing Co. expects aircraft demand to remain strong during the next 20 years but shift to long-range, fuel-efficient, mid-sized planes with strongest growth in demand coming from Asia. The company forecasts demand for 35,000 commercial aircraft during the next two decades worth about $4.8 trillion.

AAR to Open New Aircraft Maintenance Facility in Lake Charles, Louisiana

AAR has signed an agreement with the Chennault International Airport Authority to open its Sixth North American aircraft Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul facility in Lake Charles, La., at the Chennault International Airport. AAR, the largest independent MRO provider in North America, will occupy approximately 520,000 square feet of MRO service and administrative space at the facility, capable of supporting maintenance operations for all wide-body aircraft, with expansion under way that will accommodate aircraft as large as the Airbus A380.

Central Florida Aviation Industry Shows Signs of Growth, Promising Careers
