EASA fraud warning

We have been made aware that our approval holders and applicants have recently been targeted by fraud/phishing e-mails requesting payment of fees or trying to receive a copy of EASA invoices/account statements. The fraudster is trying to make recipients believe that those emails would origin from EASA. The scale of this attempted fraud seems to be extensive; this is why we ask you to read attentively the instructions we've provided. More

ARSA seeks clarification of FAA designee privilege

On Dec. 6, ARSA submitted a letter to the FAA requesting clarification of the privileges afforded to a repair specification designated engineering representative. The issue giving rise to the association's request centered upon an RS-DER approval, and later "rescission" of that approval by the designee. More



ARSA seeks to resolve part-marking confusion

On a Dec. 11 letter to the FAA, ARSA asked the agency to clarify confusion regarding part marking during maintenance — specifically, whether maintenance providers can apply a "serial number" to a part lacking that information. The Association has asked the FAA to acknowledge affirmatively that a repair station may restore or add a "serial number" to a part received with missing or illegible information. More

ARSA's Positive Publicity Campaign is the aviation maintenance industry's chief advocate. The PPC tells of the maintenance industry's important role in ensuring a safe and efficient global civil aviation system, and it alerts lawmakers and other key audiences to facts about the industry's economic and employment benefits through important research projects.

However, repair stations remain a favorite target of those seeking to disparage the aviation system. Through the PPC, ARSA actively counters misinformed stories about the industry's safety record and regulatory compliance.

The PPC is a separate ARSA fund supported by leading aviation maintenance companies dedicated to improving the climate for repair stations. For the campaign to build upon is success, we need your involvement and support.

Final Documents: This list includes Federal Register, or FR, publications such as proposed and final rules, Advisory Circulars, or ACs, orders, notices, policy statements and related material of interest to ARSA members. The date shown is the date of FR publication or other official release.

Your Two Cents: Provides you with the opportunity to provide input on rules and guidance that will affect you. Agencies must provide the public with notice and an opportunity for comment before their rules change. Your input matters. Comments should be received before the indicated due date; however, agencies often consider comments they receive before drafting of the final document begins.
