AWDI
AWDI will be celebrating the 25 year anniversary of their first Washington, D.C. Conference in 1993 where the preliminary replacement window installation guidelines were presented to DOE, manufacturers, utilities, dealers and more. This conference resulted in consensus and a pathway to initiating the first installation certification program.
Since then, installation guidelines have morphed into ASTM-2112 more than a decade later, and recognition that installation of replacement windows matters as much as the products’ performance in delivering energy savings and weatherization improvement to consumers who replace their windows. Technology and techniques have tried to keep up with product improvement. AWDI has endeavored to put these improvements into the marketplace in a climate of “arm’s-length-distance” between manufacturers, dealers and installers brought about because of liabilities, control, environmental concerns and employment issues. But all agree that delivering in-service performance is the primary goal for all. That goal has been supported by 11 straight years of encouragement for AWDI from Consumer Reports Magazine among others.
AWDI has launched a campaign of “Why AWDI Matters” to suggest ways to help manufacturers and dealers bring the benefits “home” to consumers in real and meaningful terms.

USA Today
While many people still think that the last housing crisis in the U.S. was largely due to banks offering too many subprime mortgages, it's now clear that wasn't actually the case. Instead, recent research pins the blame on house flippers and speculators, who pumped markets up, then defaulted in large numbers when they were unable to turn a profit on their investment properties.

I was born with part of my left hand missing. I only have my thumb, no fingers. I don’t ever call this a disability, which in my view is something that’s in someone’s mind. In fact, this circumstance set my goal in life: to do something with one hand better than someone with two hands could. I’m from Lake Charles, Louisiana, and when I was younger, I rodeoed, played basketball and baseball and learned how to hunt, fish and golf.
