U.S. News & World Report recently released its 100 Best Jobs rankings, and while glaziers did not rank in the top 100 of best jobs, it did rank among the best in work life balance. Of the Best Construction Jobs, glaziers ranked eighth out of 14 jobs listed, but had the best work life balance of any of the jobs ranked above it. According to the rankings, glaziers have a median salary of $42,580 and an unemployment rate of 5%. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that glaziers will see a 10.5% growth in employment from 2016 to 2026, with a total of 5,300 added jobs.

Spending on U.S. construction projects was unchanged in April as another decline in home construction was offset by a big gain in government spending on projects like highways and hospitals. The Commerce Department said recetnly that the flat reading followed a small increase of 0.1% in March, which was revised higher from an initial estimate that showed a sharp decline. Construction spending rose 1% in February.
