AWDI
Since 2007, AWDI has enjoyed the recommendations of Consumer Reports, A.M. Best and EPA/Energy Star as well as being awarded the only registered certification mark for window and door installation. These third-party credentials help dealers differentiate and compete in the home. Members of the AWDI Approved Dealers program sell more, make more money, have fewer callbacks and are able to manage their businesses to be more profitable and serve the homeowner better.
AWDI Approved Dealers not only enjoy these third-party credentials, but they are featured on the AWDI website when a consumer is looking for a dealer in their area. Approved Dealers are highlighted with their logos, Web addresses and at-top bold listing when a consumer searches for a dealer in a state or ZIP code. Approved Dealers also enjoy two free AWDI certifications for their installers and other benefits beyond the visible support.
For more information, check out http://www.awdi.com/ApprovedDealersm.pdf. Then contact us at info@awdi.com or call 561-220-AWDI for information on how to qualify.

The U.S. Department of Commerce is scheduled to announce whether it will impose preliminary anti-dumping duties on Canadian softwood lumber by the end of June. The U.S. already escalated the row in April by slapping tariffs of up to 24.1 percent on Canadian shipments. This month’s decision may bring the combined duties to more than 30 percent according to RBC Capital Markets. The fees would be levied against companies such as West Fraser Timber Co. and Canfor Corp.

Remodeling
The Department of Labor announced Wednesday, June 7, it has withdrawn informal guidance that was widely regarded as an Obama Administration crackdown on companies' use of independent contractors and of workers who in effect are employed by two companies jointly.
Of those, the 2015 guidance on independent subcontractors raised the greatest concerns among remodelers because it could have forced companies to treat those subs as employees and thus pay payroll taxes, unemployment insurance, and related costs on those workers.
