Eye On Housing
The count of unfilled jobs in the overall construction sector remained elevated in April after a post-Great Recession high in March. However, the count of total jobs in the residential construction sector has declined for two straight months.
According to the BLS Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey and NAHB analysis, the number of open construction sector jobs (on a seasonally adjusted basis) fell to 200,000 in April, after a cycle high of 215,000 in March. The March estimate represents the highest monthly count of job openings since May 2007.

The Clean Water Act, in effect since 1972 and administered by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Army Corps of Engineers, has a straightforward mission — to prevent water pollution. The waters it protects are defined as all "navigable waters" or waters with a "significant nexus" to navigable waters. In an effort to define, once and for all, what that means exactly, the EPA finalized its Clean Water Rule in 2015, which lays out which bodies of water are considered "waters of the United States."
