Houston-based window company Paul Ryan Windows announced last week that it will replace any windows destroyed by Hurricane Harvey free of charge, including installation, provided that certain conditions are met.
According to a post on the company’s website, covered replacements include windows that were submerged under water, windows with excessive frame damage and windows that are completely destroyed. The company says it won’t cover the replacement costs for windows with broken glass, or those that leaking.

The biggest cause of disputes is errors and omissions in contracts, but human emotion, and the drive to be “right” is behind a disturbing trend that’s interfering with early resolution.
Even though the North American construction industry has come around to using better contracts, is better at risk allocation and has better-educated participants, human emotion is still sending disputes all the way to the courtroom. It’s the drive to be right that’s getting in the way of quick resolutions even though being right often ends costing way more than settling.

Ninety-five percent of 206 respondents expect revenue to grow or remain stable over the next 12 months, the survey by USG Corp and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce showed.

Commercial construction continues to be in high demand across the United States and contractors remain optimistic about the sector, according to the third quarter Q3 USG Corporation + U.S. Chamber of Commerce Commercial Construction Index.
Nearly all contractors surveyed this summer (95 percent) expect revenues to grow or remain stable over the next 12 months compared to the prior 12 months, nearly the same percentage as in the Q2 2017 survey.
