Glaston to sell flat tempering lines for solar lites to Kibing Glass

Glaston Group has signed a contract with Kibing Glass, a Chinese manufacturer of float glass, energy-saving building glass, low-iron ultra-white glass and photovoltaic glass, for five flat tempering lines to be used for solar lite tempering.
Glaston, a supplier of equipment to the architectural, solar and display industries, announced that the contract is the first win for its "new tailor-made concept for the solar industry."

Saint-Gobain's acquisition of GCP Applied Technologies to close on September 27

Saint-Gobain announced this it recently obtained approvals from all relevant competition authorities for its acquisition of GCP Applied Technologies Inc., a major global player in construction chemicals, announced on December 6, 2021. The acquisition will close on September 27, 2022. GCP will delist from the New York Stock Exchange.

Total construction starts fall in August, commercial starts stay steady

Total construction starts fell 9% in August to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.25 trillion, according to Dodge Construction Network. The decline, however, comes on the heels of a massive increase in July that saw the start of three large manufacturing plants and two LNG export facilities. In August, nonresidential building starts rose 7%, residential starts were 1% higher, while nonbuilding starts lost 36%.
