BlueLinx expands into Pacific Northwest with purchase of Vandermeer

BlueLinx Holdings, Marietta, Ga., has acquired privately-held wholesale distributor Vandermeer Forest Products, Spokane, Wa.
The $67-million purchase price includes $3.6 million for the distribution facility and real estate in Spokane, and $63.4 million for the business. Over the last 12 months, Vandermeer’s sales slightly exceeded $150 million.

Binswanger Glass announced an agreement to sell its auto glass division to Safelite Group, owner of Safelite AutoGlass. The transaction was completed on September 30. The sale of the auto glass division allows Binswanger to bolster its position as a commercial and residential flat glass leader, following its mission of providing world-class service to its core customers.

Interfor to acquire forest products company

Interfor Corp. has reached an agreement with an affiliate of the Kilmer Group to acquire 100% of the equity interests in the entities comprising Chaleur Forest Products.
Chaleur owns "two modern and well-capitalized sawmill operations" located in Belledune and Bathurst, New Brunswick, with a combined annual lumber production capacity of 350 million board feet.
