Have a heart: A pharmacist's reflection on medicine adherence

We know that compliance with prescribed medication therapies is embarrassingly low. So have a heart, and teach your patients how to take their prescription medication. It's more important than you might think. In fact, results from a recent study suggest that greater adherence to prescribed therapies following a myocardial infarction significantly improve results and reduce readmissions to the hospital.
Pharmacists conduct flu, strep tests
Eighty Midwest pharmacies are taking part in a study aimed at improving patient outcomes by having specially trained pharmacists conduct free flu and strep throat tests, and in some, cases fill matching prescriptions under a collaborative practice agreement with physicians.
