Organizers say early figures suggest CNE attendance up 10 per cent this year

Although the final figures have yet to be tallied, organizers with the Canadian National Exhibition say early numbers suggest that attendance at this year's event will be the highest on record since 2004.  In a news release issued Tuesday, CNE organizers said that an estimated 1.43 million visitors attended the midway this year, an increase of about 10 per cent from last year.

Senior wins again at Meaford-St. Vincent Fall Fair

This year marked the the 60th year that Helen Vickers has taken part in competitions at the M.SV. Fall Fair.

Fall fair a huge success

The Cold Lake Agricultural Society 40th annual bench show was a prized event on August 27 at the Agriplex. In celebration of its 40 years, the organizers incorporated several new and creative ideas to attract people of all ages. "Seemed to be quite a few ages there , we had the bouncy house, we had a fishing pond for the children and we had people giving out candies," said Joyce Verrier, manager of the farmer's market.

Hants County Exhibition celebrates 250th anniversary

The oldest agricultural fair in North America is marking a big anniversary — 250 years. "We're older than Canada. We're older than newspaper, radio and cameras. There's a whole list," said Brian Casey, president of the Hants County Exhibition and Maritime director for the Canadian Association of Fairs and Exhibitions.
