New Director joins Canadian Carwash Association Board
Canadian Carwash Association
The Association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on Wednesday, March 11 during the CARWACS Toronto trade show. The meeting was well attended by members participating in the two-day trade show. During the AGM, members of the CCA voted in a slate of incumbent Directors and a new Director, Christal Narday, for one-year terms. The Board’s newest director joins the CCA from Valet Car Wash. The CCA is pleased to welcome Christal to the Board and looks forward to her valuable input. Directors who completed their terms on the Board of Directors were Bob Walsh from Fernrob Pressure Cleaning Systems Inc. and Denis Gingras from CST Canada Co. (Ultramar). Carwash Owners and Suppliers attend CARWACS Toronto
CCA
The Toronto Convenience U CARWACS trade show welcomed carwash operators and industry suppliers from across the country for a two-day event which included three CCA education seminars. Al Huntington of Belanger, Inc. kicked off the first day of the show with his presentation on customer engagement. A roundtable discussion with Sean McBride, Belanger, Inc.; Brent Taylor, Erb & Erb Insurance; Karen Dalton, Canadian Carwash Association; and Joe Kocher, Mondo Products Company Ltd. spoke on equipment, insurance, Wash Volume Report, and Chemicals, respectively. McBride also presented a workshop on equipment maintenance with Jeff Beam, Transchem Inc. and John Sorensen, Mark VII Equipment Inc.

The bustling trade show floor provided members with the opportunity to network with industry suppliers and learn about the latest products available to carwash operators.

New Members of the CCA in 2015...

Operators and Suppliers from several provinces joined the CCA since the start of 2015. New members in Ontario include Blue Wave Car Wash, Traditions Holding Inc. and Awash Systems Corp. Joining the CCA from Saskatchewan are new members Silvernagle Holdings and Aspen Ventures Ltd. Alberta’s Village Auto Wash joins from the west, while New Brunswick’s D.A. Murphy Investments Ltd. is our newest member from the east. The CCA welcomes all of our new members to the Association!

More than 1,300 experience SCWA convention

The Southwest Car Wash Association (SCWA) Convention and Expo, “Ignite — Inspire and Innovate,” held February 22-24, was a success, according to a press release. SCWA Executive Director Chuck Space said more than 1,300 car care professionals attended the event. The three-day conference featured educational sessions and more than 60,000 square feet of exhibition space, noted the release. FOX News contributor Karl Rove kicked off the convention with a keynote address, stated the release. He spoke about how small businesses like carwashes are the backbone of the economy.
