Venues in Africa, America, Europe, and Oceania hosted activities aimed at advancing gender balance in the air and space industry during the sixth annual Women Of Aviation Worldwide Week, a global aviation awareness week for girls of any age, founded and managed by the Institute for Women Of Aviation Worldwide.
There were 120 total venues and 44,000 people participated.
With 27 venues, France led the way for most venues in a single country, closely followed by Turkey with 26.

Eagle Copters founder Mel O'Reilly was recently on stage at the Louisville Marriott Downtown where he received the prestigious Les Morris Award on behalf of the Twirly Birds organization.
Les was in the pilot's seat of the Sikorsky helicopter featured on the June 21, 1943 cover of Life magazine. The test pilot's first six flights covered a total of 25 minutes in the fabric-covered machine.

Nominations closed on Feb. 4, 2016, for COPA directors positions in seven regions.
In Manitoba/Nunavut, Northern Ontario and Newfoundland/Labrador, there was one nominee for director and therefore the nominees in each of those regions won by acclamation. Congratulations to Jim Bell, Lloyd Richards and Ray Hawco.

If you attended the recent Heli-Expo show, you got to see some interesting things on the show floor — including a mock-up of a Bell 505 light single with a United Rotorcraft EMS interior. Generally, you wouldn't think a helicopter this small would be suitable for the HEMS mission, but its flat floor and big doors get if just over the goal line. Mike Slattery, United Rotorcraft's president, said the lightweight, low-cost interior will be popular with law enforcement and in the developing world.
