Every year the Burlington 715 Mohawk Squadron Air Cadets hold a ceremonial review where they provide demonstrations of the events that they have participated in during their 10 months of formal training.

Despite nasty weather that dogged them across Quebec and northern Maine, a small squadron of dedicated recreational pilots safely landed at Summerside airport. Only seven of 21 small aircraft were able to make the flight to P.E.I. due to the weather. "That's the way it goes sometimes," said pilot Lee (Leonce) Arsenault.

Moments after opening the throttle and coaxing the red and white Cessna 172RG into the air, Luke Matchett smiled behind his sunglasses and admitted that even after 500 hours in the cockpit, he never gets tired of flying.
"It's really rewarding," the young pilot said as he banked the aircraft over downtown Saskatoon. "The ultimate goal is to fly for an airline, but right now I'm enjoying every step of the way."

A single-engine airplane has made an emergency landing on Interstate 10 in south Mississippi's Jackson County.
Mississippi Highway Patrol Capt. Johnny Poulos tells The Associated Press the landing is believed to have occurred around 12:30 p.m. The eastbound lanes of I-10, near Biloxi. No injuries were reported.
The landing happened near Mile Marker 48 between the heavily travelled D'Iberville and Ocean Springs exits.

U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Melvin Rector long carried Britain in his heart after he helped defend it during World War II, but 70 years passed without him stepping foot in the country.
The 94-year-old finally decided to leave his home in Barefoot Bay, Florida, to visit Britain earlier this month. The National World War II Museum in New Orleans conducts a travel program through which interested parties can visit certain sites of the war.

The proving flights are required at high altitude airports by the Civil Aviation rules.
