The Niagara District Airport has negotiated a contract to sell its aircraft fuelling service and possibly its hangar in a deal that will put the airport in 'the major leagues.' St. Catharines Coun. Greg Washuta said the deal with a company known as a 'fixed-base operator' will generate revenue for the airport and will allow it to attract more customers and more businesses.

This business of air ambulances no longer being allowed to land at or near hospitals in Lion's Head, Wiarton and Chesley, and perhaps other communities across the province, is troubling at best. The restrictions are particularly troubling for those who live and work in the rural areas of the province, and in some respects seem just one more way of many in which the government can make rural lives more difficult.
