The Global Alliance for public relations and communication management seeks candidates for Executive Board
The Global Alliance (GA) seeks senior leaders in the profession to fill nine positions on its international Executive Board. The GA Nomination Committee notice is due May 7, 2015. Passionate and experienced public relations and communications professionals can be nominated by a peer or self-nominate. The GA Nomination Committee notice has more information on the process and eligibility requirements for candidate hopefuls. The Board will be elected at the 2015 Global Alliance AGM in Milan, Italy, June 26-28, 2015.

The CPRS National Office and Awards Committee would like to thank all of the CPRS members who submitted a communications campaign to the 2015 Awards of Excellence. Judging is now underway and the National Office is as eager to see the results as those who entered the awards program. CPRS National will officially announce the 2015 winners in a news release on Monday, May 4.

Russia, Ketchum end controversial 9-year public relations partnership

The public relations giant Ketchum is ending its nine-year representative relationship with the Russian Federation and the state-owned gas firm Gazprom for undisclosed reasons, according to PR Week, confirming speculation over the last year that the rising tensions between Russia and the West was making trouble for the Washington, D.C.-based firm.
Ketchum, a subsidiary of the Omnicom Group, was hired by the Russian Federation in 2006 in preparation for a G8 summit in St. Petersburg that year and went on to handle much of Russia's image abroad.
